I do not have anything to judge my opinion on other than what I saw in the movie ( and that's a very poor way to judge anything) and what I've heard, but I don't know of anything he did that would deserve the Medal of Honor that any of the other men he served with didn't do.
He is a great American hero and a very good sniper but what did he do that deserves our nations highest honor?

Did his job, did it with excellence -- better than any other one in his field, but did not exhibit "galantry and intrepedity above and beyond the call of duty" based on the book and movie. If he has done such, then his teammates/chain of command should initiate a recommendation.

IMO the politician is grandstanding.

I have no issue with him or any other Warrior that could be mentioned in the same breath.
