    Bay boat ??

May be in the market for a new bay boat. What is the best so called "budget" boat for the money? Definitely not looking for a high end boat, just something dependable with a good warranty. Which motors to look for, stay away from, etc. Also, who are the best dealers in the Houston area?

If you need financing, I know a banker .

Forreal though, for all the birds I sent you I get a spot on that boat atleast once .

Nautic Star and bay stealth are nice. The epic is also nice. Go Yamaha or Honda hands down. Stay away from anything Mako and mercury. If I had to chose I would lean Epic. Love the layout

Guess I better add some advice too if I'm going to take up space. My coworkers parents own Transport Boats. If those peak your interest let me know.

Seahunt, bluewave, nautic star, tidewater, etc. Those are some of the more popular "production" boats; which on average are cheaper than a lot of the custom Texas manufacturers. All are great boats, but it's hard to say any of them are "budget" friendly. More "budget" friendy may be a better way of putting it.

When I'm thinking more on a budget type of boat, I'm thinking Carolina Skiff or an aluminum boat. You can get 19-21' in length, but still get away with less HP than fiberglass hulls.

Another option is to go used. A solid older hull with newer power can be had at a decent price. Most hulls outlast motors, so it's not unusual to see a nice v-hull say 15 years old powered by a newer outboard.

Nitro bay is very comfortable and reasonably priced. It will run fairly shallow but will need 18" to get up. If you want a skinny water rig check out shallow stalker.

Mostly fish in fresh water but want to be able to fish the bay if I get the itch.

Good advice, thx! Really wanting something with a warranty though for whatever it's worth lol.

There was a really nice looking 21' nautic star in the classifieds the other day. 2014 model I believe.

this^^^ all depends on what you want to do with it. I really like the Haynies and Majeks but they are more upper end. A good middle of the road boat would be a Blue Wave imo. They do have the upper end with the Pure Bay but the have tons of models and they usually run Yamahas. Shallow Sport is another and Shallow Stalker which is basically a knock off of the Shallow Sports.

I am very seriously considering a 22' express bay boat in the near future myself. Check them out

Nautic Star, Epic, and Frontier are nice "middle of the road" boats. Yamaha or Suzuki for your motor. It would be a deal breaker for me if it's not one of those two.
