Kirby salesman?

So are there still door to door Kirby salesman? Friday while I was in the shop workin my wife answered the door and the guy says he's a Kirby salesman - she told him she's not interested and he started the speel, then she tells him she's got the flu and not interested soooo he starts the speel again sayin just let me come in and demonstrate which she replies we have wood floors! Soooo he starts the speel again and my wife says please don't make me close the door in your face! Sooo he starts the speel AGAIN!!! I kinda laughed it off but called my parents to warn them and they called back sayin no one came by - they only live 1/2 a mile down the road and we live in the boonies!
I just figured they quit doin the door to door years ago?!

They're still out there, seems like we get a Kirby sales team infestation about twice a year here. Your wife is a much nicer person than I am, they only get I'm not interested nicely once, after that it gets very direct and to the point.

We had a terrible experience with them a couple of years back. Young kid talked my wife into the demonstration with the "working my way through school" bit. Then brought in another guy to do the demo and left him there. Second guy stalled and stalled, stumbled through the demo and it was obvious his boss would not come back to pick him up without us buying something. I got angry and kicked him to the curb, even made him get off my porch. He sat there for a good hour and finally picked up his vacuum and walked down the block.

Yes they still go door to door. One came to the house a few weeks ago. The dogs discouraged him when the wife answered and said she was not interested. She called the neighbors and warned them.

Well this def. makes me feel better! We've got 6 dogs and two were in the house! By the time he left they had gone to howling and were actually harmonizing purdy good!! He told her he doesn't get paid unless she allows him in to do the demonstration! Guess some things aint changed much since that I love Lucy episode from the early 60's! LOL!

Funny thing is they want a small fortune for those vacuums. I saw one in a pawn shop not too long ago for $100.

I literly had to threaten two of them to get them out of my house.Called their boss and told him to get these jack wagon's out of here. Then he started the same crap on the phone. Then chased them down the street with a knife. NEVER EVER LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE!!!! They are cock roaches !!!!!!!

They've been in Weatherford for about a week now. We get 2 or 3 calls a day from people complaining, but they did it right and got solicitors permits, so they're legal. Just annoying!

Man I remember when I was a kid a couple of these worked there way into or house with their speel and ended up getting my mom in tears nearly, but she didnt break. I'd give anything if a couple of them tried to walk down my driveway now and let the curr dog greet them for starters! I'd definitely have some fun with them.

Had my first encounter a few weeks ago. They are tenacious little devils!

I tried that, it was then I realized that I wasn't a salesperson. Lots of doors slammed in face. I did it for a few weeks in SanAntonio. Once I had someone show up dripping wet fresh out shower wearing only a towel...didn't get invited in but was nice and nice looking. Got cops called once for soliciting in a restricted subdivision.
