Can anyone give me a picture by picture of how to build an H-brace for corners on a fence. I am going to fence in my property but I have never made an H-brace and I know a good H-brace makes a good fence.
tag for interest. I know the theory - but curious how people apply it. I think the best are probably welded pipe - there are good how to's on you-tube how to cut the saddles. It is a lot easier than I had thought.
I can def give you a quote if you don't want to mess with it!!
I knew there would be a couple of those Its only about a 100 ft stretch along the front with gate entrance. I have field/goat wire that was given to me and a roll of barb wire. I figured two corners and t post in between will work.
I usually think of the H brace in the middle of longer runs. On the ends I have always seen/done something along this if made from pipe on the corners or ends.
It is probably real easy. Just never done it before
Yeah, it's not that hard. I used railroad ties for my fence on the H braces. For your horizontal piece, a piece of pipe works great, like 2 or 2 1/2 inch. Drive a nail about half way thru your vertical post, assuming your using wood. Then slip the pipe in on the nail sticking out. This will hold your horizontal piece till you tighten your wire up on the vertical post. I used the same wire that I used as my fence (barbed wire). Wrap it at the top of one post to the bottom of the other post. Then I just used a stick, putting it in the middle of the 2 post and start turning till you pull everything tight.
The treated post these days aren't worth a crap.
I would see if I could find a supplier on cedar post. It would last much longer and look better IMO, or find some cross ties.
