    BACON BURGER... how much bacon do you use?

    I will be making sausage next weekend and am gonna make some bacon burger. I have used about 10% bacon in the past and have heard that 20% is real good.

    Let's hear what everyone uses as far as bacon percentage in their bacon burger.

    The bacon I have is the peppered maple bacon. It is good.

    curious also for next year! Do you just grind up the bacon like the venison?

      yes, that is what I have done in the past. I used to get the box of bacon ends, but now I have the regular thick bacon.

          i messed up and got bacon burger done this year. Im almost out of hamburger already. Oct needs to hurry and get here.

            I make it 70/30... that s 7 lbs of deer to 3 lbs of bacon.
            I use wright's bacon ends and pieces.

              But my last batch was 30%!!! Excellent!!!!!!

                        It honestly can get tiring. I don't do an entire deer in bacon. I have to space it out throughout the year so it doesn't get old. I'll mostly eat the brisket ground burgers then throw in the bacon burgers for a change of pace.

                            I'm real close to the same way. 50 lbs. of meat I would do 40 lbs. brisket and 10 lbs. bacon.
