Thanks. First Chevy truck I've ever had. It's young but I think its gonna be a good one.
Right now I'm getting 14.2 mpg and that seem to be about the average unless Im pulling a trailer. Then about 12mpg.

185,000 on My 08'. Replaced front wheel hubs and all 4 shocks, other than that just the normal PM. you will never go back to a gas truck.

Around 225K on my '07. Bought it four years ago with 140K already on it. The only think I have really had to do was replace the fuel pump. Has been a really good truck.

90% sure our next family vehicle will be a Duramax Z71. How many miles do you have and how's it holding up compared to the 5.3 Z71? I'm trying to justify the price difference between gas and diesel. MPG's seem to be about the same.

You'll never justify that unless you have equipment that constitutes a diesel truck to move. Or, you let go of rationally justifying a diesel and just get one. While MPG is close, cost of the fuel is different. Maintenance is more for a diesel as well.

Everyone that says a Diesel will last longer and what not is using that as a means to justify their decision. The motor itself, maybe. The rest, lasts just as long a gas truck.

still on the original set of brakes.....

Wheel bearings seem to be the norm. I'm fixing to replace the hubs on our 08 Z71 with 142k.
