7 day hunt booked for the last week in October. There will be 4 of us going and already can't wait for it to get here! Will definitely be a week long live hunt (service permitting). Now, to sit back and flip the calendar for the next 9 months!

I think the last week of October can be just as promising as the first couple of weeks of November. Should be right there on the edge of pre rut and rut. I think this timing will do 2 things, have the bucks on their feet, but they won't be going crazy yet, keeping them somewhat to their patterns.

2012 and 2013, I was covered up in big mature bucks on Halloween day both years. In 2013 I could smell them and hear them grunting before they got to me. I had a stupid wide short tined 10 and a really long tined narrow 8, both 5 year olds, on me less than 15 min after I got in the tree. Good luck to you!

Same here in 2013, farmers said it was the earliest rut they had ever seen. It was awesome.

Congrats brother. We firmed up our trip a couple weeks ago. Hunting unit 14 second week of November. was their first week of November this year. And now we wait....

That said, 2 years in a row I killed my bucks on Nov. 11th. Neither where acting rutty. They where coming to food after ('12) and before ('13) a bad *** cold front.
