My F250 won't start and the screen is showing "Stop Safely Now"...anyone know why its doing that or how to fix it?

If it's a '11-'14 then probably an EGT sensor.. but without a code reader you're stuck till you get it towed to the dealer.

my brother's did that when it was out of DEF. also did it when his DPF was full and didn't proceed to highway to burn it off as instructed. he was able to get it to start by putting the key in the ignition and jumping the starter with a screwdriver. (seriously)

Sometimes if you disconnect the battery for a few minutes the computer will reset

Mike- I did some research and heard this might do it. Any idea on the cost of something like this?

If you have a code reader to determine which of the 4 EGT sensors it is and a 13mm tubing wrench it'll cost about $50 or less.. If you got to tow it to the dealer probably a couple hundred if it's not under warranty..

By the way... there is a recall for a re-flash on these sensors right now... just had mine done Saturday.

A friend of mine had that happen to him while he was driving! It told him to pull over safely, and then the truck just shut off.

I've had two go out, supposedly the ones on trucks 13 or older are more durable abs they replace them with the good kind, as far as price I have extended warranty so they paid for it

Yep... that's addressed in the re-flash

I am glad one of my best friends is a Ford Technician here in Houston. He gets me parts at cost and labor is usually lunch or beer or two.

Hearing how common this simple issue is on the 6.7 makes me appreciate my 7.3 and keeps me from being tempted to buy one. I love the power they have though. Is this something you can fix on the side of the road and just carry extra egt sensors in the truck or are they different sizes per sensor?

All 4 sensors (5 on the '15) are the same.. you need a code reader and a 13mm tubing wrench and some anti-seize.. And a couple of these...

What they all said plus I'd check my oil and antifreeze.

So, this is the "CPS" of the 6.7 . Can you scan a 6.7 with obd II or is it Can?
