    Cross Bow for Home Defense

I was at Cabelas yesterday and over heard a guy asking the employee which cross bow would be best for home defense...

What do you suppose would be any better? You have: 1) cool factor 2) reusable ammunition 3) less chance of penetration into other rooms 4) the shot will be quiet so you can reload and get the rest of the intruders.

quiet isn't a description I associate with crossbows--

Actually Texas Penal Code 46.04 allows a convicted felon to have a home defense firearm as long as they have been off probation or parole for at least 5 years. That does open a whole 'nother can of worms regarding "straw purchases" and such as that.

I hunt with a crossbow, but it is not my first choice for home defense, I leave that to the terrible duo, Sam and buddy.
