rabbit with spotty liver!!! should I be worried

Well me and my boys shot, a rabbit, and when cleaning it noticed white spots on its liver, not looking for them just noticed. Well I usually always wear gloves, I mean always!! Except tonight. anyway I'm worried that I might have been contaminated!! I have fresh cuts on my hands... washed, purelled, washed again since then but having a hard time sleeping cause this kind of stuff freaks me out. looks like they might have one reported case a year in texas, what says the green screen. Thanks.

Well, there's good news and bad news. The good news is that you don't have to worry about the expiration date on your milk.

It might be a good idea to see a doctor Monday. It's possible that you were infected. Tularemia responds well to antibiotics.

Alcoholic rabbits. Watch where you throw your beer cans.

Maybe time for a wabbit intervention. Get him a sponsor and hold him accountable.

I don't like the feel of latex gloves when I clean animals, but it sure makes you think twice huh?

Had a mesquite thorn go up my fingernail and into under my cuticle. It hurt but got worse when I got a bad infection there three days later when I cleaned a deer.

I had tularemia once from skinning rabbits. it sucked I'd like to never get rid of it. I had bad blisters all over my hands.

I've always checked the liver for spots before eating, but I've never worn gloves while skinning. I never even considered the possibility of blood borne pathogens from animals.

Crazy. Never have worn gloves skinning animals and have never had a problem in my whole life. Learn something new everyday.

You might want to get checked. Its better to be safe than sorry. Tularemia isnt a joke, we have had several falconers contract it last year.
