Muddy Crossing, How do I fix?

We have this muddy crossing. This used to be the best place to cross, but its hard to do without getting the ranger stuck. Any ideas on a fix?

Obviously the best way is to go around but that i not really an option.

    Let me know ideas.

How big is the area? If it's not too big, bags of Sakrete?

Some sort of gravel/rock probably best option but it will cost some cash.

Get pallets for free and take em apart take all the nails out. Lay the slats down in a line and pack them down into the mud. Ranger probably not heavy enough to break them so you shouldnt have to worry about splinters. I think that would work?

For that size soft spot you could use about 10 80# bags of cement. Chop it in good with a hoe when it is dry to mix it with the dirt. Next time it rains stay off of it until it has a chance to dry out again and harden up. If you really want to do it right drop a truckload of chat (1/2" to fines) spread it and then do the cement mix.

Where is it at? I have a lot of pallets you can have if you want them. I'm in San Antonio. Other than that I would get 5 yards of base and fix it that way

This method makes a decent poor boy slab for lots of projects (campsite walkways, extra parking areas, storage shed floors, etc)

Unless he owns the property that's a good way to lose a deer lease. I guarantee the owner driving around the property in the summer time banging from rut to rut is thinking "dang hunters!"

                        This.
You have to make the area drain before you can fix it. Standing Water + Traffic = mud hole every time. If it was my problem I would take my skid steer and dig a drainage and pile the dirt by the mud hole. Let is drain and mud dry, then fill in the hole.

We have a tractor we have to get back there.

What about those timber mats they use for heavy equipment? those should work huh?

Anyone know where to get those?

Rip rap and put you a horn or ditch down yonder to let the water out. If you drain it and put rip rap on that low side that high side won't get near as wet.
