    PRK laser

Wow! Had PRK today in my left eye. Man, it's irritating to say the least. Had lasik in my right eye in 2000 with little to no irritation. This PRK is a whole different ball game. My eye feels like I'm downwind of a mesquite fire and someone is shining a q beam straight in it. Anyone else gone through this?

I did right at 2 years ago. It sucks big time. If they put a bandage contact on it, save a pain pill for when they take it out. I had both my eyes done, and was actually driving fine just a few days later when they told me it would take a week. Drove myself to the visit to take the bandage contacts out and barely made it home. The pain was just as bad as the first day, but the watering and itching made me pull over a few times. I was lucky I had one pill left. Took it, went to sleep and was fine when I woke up. Had to have PRK because of scars on my eyeball that kept them from doing lasik.

      LOL
My eyes were real bad with astigmatism and had prk done a year and half ago. Only option work would pay for. First two days after was pretty much blind and hell. Drove to work on my own after 5 days and signs were still blurry. Took a few weeks for them to come in right due to the over correction. All is good now and can see close and far.

I had PRK almost 4 years ago. It took a month for me to be able to see. It was so bad, I couldn't read the big freeway signs for almost that whole month. Then one morning I woke up and had 20/10 Vision. It was painful and to this day, if I wake up and open my eyes fast, it feels like I rip the outer layer of my eye off. It hurts, a lot. Just make sure to keep eye drops with you where ever you go,

your cousin Luke told me you were a wuss, and now i believe it.

Hope the pain eases. Not many things are worse than when your eyes hurt.

So they did the prk and didnt prescribe you anything for pain? That's stupid. I was offered vallum during prep and given a scrip before they even started. Couldn't image going without it. Feeling like your eye has glass shards in it isnt fun

Ya no oral meds, just 4 different eye drops. One is a lidocaine type drop not to be used more that once every 4 hrs. I was having to use it every 1.5 to 2.. Doing much better now and about to add some vodka in to the concoction
