Comments in Threads for "lease hunting."

This is not at all meant to start a fight on here but what are your thoughts on this subject. I already know somebody will get ****** but I am just trying to get honest opinions here. Take this situation.

TBH member A makes a thread "looking for lease."
    -x location, x price, x details.

    TBH members B, C, D, F, G, K, S, T etc all chime in and say " me too." X location, x price, x details.

Is it just me or is that kind of cutting the legs out from underneath the member who posted the thread? Like I said, not trying to start an Argument here. I'm just trying to see what the members thoughts are on this.

    I agree to a degree

Always didn't see the reason for the excess comments

I guess it's incase the op finds a place with extra spots and they hope they get contacted to join

If anything it bumps the thread I guess

      I concur.

Seen a lot of "I would like information as well"

That's a good point. Like I said. I'm not here to say "don't do x." Just trying to get a hang on the forum ethics if you will.

It bumps the thread, lets people know who all is looking in case more than one spot opens up. Maybe lease in to much for OP and some one else gets lucky. Hopefully no other TBHer will undercut one another, but if he would i would not want him on my lease cause he cant be trusted.

I agree to a point but at the same time I dont blame the ones that chime in on the thread too ( I may have done it too ). With leases in such high demand oftentimes just having the money isnt enough. Landowners can be picky and just because you are looking and on the thread doesnt mean you are "in" if a place is found. The OP may not like a property or fit into the group that is already on the place so anyone that posts is at least letting people know they are looking. I can see it from both sides.

It's a touchy subject, but I do think that it gives it a bump. THere may be a few people on here who would "jump a claim," but I'll bet most are just sharing your need/want for a lease. That is why people use PM to communicate offers. I can see where it would rub the OP the wrong way, but I doubt that there is evil intent by most folks.

It's gonna swing both ways...good deer leases make grown people stupid just like big deer.

Some are genuine & would love to get a tbh group together & others will hamstring to take your lead away & get it for themselves.

No easy answer & I'm sure I would throw mine & my Dad's hat in the ring if it came to it...worst thing there is to losing a good lease is finding another. Ours has it's own set of unnecessary drama but wouldn't want to swap with anyone else.

I don't think so. Better than 50 1 post threads that drop off. Plus most guys are looking for different types of leases in different areas.

I would think most people trying to fill a lease spot are going to interview/screen the people first to make sure they will fit in anyway. The initial contact is just the starting point.

My comment was really meant to say that I would like to join a lease like that if he found one with extra spots. I also thought as I typed it, "Good luck finding that!" but I didn't want to be rude about it, because he might find one. I haven't started looking hard yet, but if I find one that has extra openings, this is the first place I'd post it. I should have said more but really didn't know what to say. That being said, I would love to get on a lease with some of the guys and ladies from this site.
I apologize if it was wrong of me to post that. I've never had a problem with people posting those types of comments on my threads.

I would rather see one "looking for a lease thread" with 50 "me too's" than 50 looking for lease threads cluttering the Green Screen. Everyone can see who the OP is and in what order the "me too's" were posted. Nothing wrong with it. Good luck to everyone looking.
