    Havalon knife blades...question about replacements

looking at getting some more blades for my havalon piranta knife. There are surgical scalpel blades on ebay for cheap and the blade housing "looks" like it is the same as the 60xt blades.

Has anyone bought surgical blades from ebay to use on a havalon? do they fit well.

Never bought them from eBay...does it say 60A or 60Xt? Either will work with the Piranta I believe.

Does sound interesting but my .2 cents is that if I'm way back in the backcountry I would probably regret not buying the havalon blades when the cheaper knock of ones begin to snap like twigs. But those cheaper blades could be just as good or better than the havalon blades, only one way to find out...

the blades on ebay are from surgical stores. there are all sorts of blade designs. Don't know that they would snap like twigs. They "all" are surgical blades of some sort.

just wondering if anyone has bought those types.

that is what I was wondering. were they as sharp as havalon blades? durable?

I am figuring they may be basically the same type of blades.
