From the staff and family of Texas Cafeteria we want to thank all of Houston and the surrounding areas that have supported us for the last 50 years. As of Feb.3 Texas Cafeteria has closed its doors for business. It was a hard decision , we want to thank everybody for there support we will miss each and every one of you.

I see your location is in Austin, Does that mean you will be opening up a Texas Cafeteria in Austin?

I hate to hear this. My favorite breakfast place in Houston! Being from east Tx, I love good, home cooked breakfast food...can't beat Tx Cafeteria. Even bought a cap once.

                Hate to see it go.

...sad day for Houston's eateries. I'm sorry to see this landmark go... Kind of like the last day for John's bar-b-que... Those restaurants were indeed part of our heritage and history.

Ate there off and on for 30 years. Didn't know you folks were closing. Loved seeing your Dad when he was living. Never could remember you boys names but if I recall you had a big ole boat named "Cricket"? Maybe not. who knows.

I remember the 99 cent breakfast days . . . could not remember what it was at time of closing.

It was like walking into a piece of Houston or more importantly a family history every time I would eat there and look and re-look at all the family hunting and fishing photos.

Did not go to any of those meetings but I remember you had a big separate banquet room where the Rotary folk would meet for lunch.

Good job for a great place to eat all those decades!
