Second part of your answer: pour about 5-10lbs of corn in a 5 gallon bucket, pour some old beer, dr pepper, and water in it. Let it sit for two days in the sun, the pigs will love it.

We've always Put in a pack of strawberry or raspberry kool aid instead of the dr pepper.

They don't seem to mind it at our place. I have pictures of hogs and deer eating it.

I have never seen deer eat soured corn. I fill a 5 gallon bucket 3/4 full of corn. Then I buy a case of the nastiest gut rot beer you can buy (Usually Keystone, Miller, or Coors) Just kidding guys ease up. I buy Big bottles of Colt 45. Whatever is the cheapest. Dump the beer in and add a couple packs of strawberry jello. Make sure the liquid covers the corn at least 4 or 5 inches.

I would just use fresh corn, it brings them in the same and it doesn't smell like death.

They do at my place. Put some beer soured corn out for the hogs and watched a doe and her yearling come right up to it and chow down. This stuff had been souring for over a month and it was pretty ripe.

As far as the recipe goes, I just mix corn and water and let it set for a couple days. If I have some leftover beers left at my house from a party I'll dump them in their and it'll sour a lot quicker in the summer. In the summer it'll take maybe 2-3 days to turn sour, but in the winter it tried to make some and it took about 2 weeks to start smelling like I wanted.

Last year in Mexico several of the feeders were flooded and completely under water. The corn was all soured in them and we dumped them all out and cleaned the feeders. The deer did not mind at all and watched them eating it like regular corn.

It depends hour "sour" it is, if you just let it sit for a few days they are more apt to eat it than if you let it sit for a week or 2.

At the place I am on in Rocksprings and Chappel Hill they do. My son shot his first deer last season as it was eating some sour corn.
