    Oats

I hunt in Leakey and I have a clearing in the middle of my property.I can`t get a tractor back there,so I can not plow but I was wondering if I weedeat the grass down and I try to plant some of that no plow forage or if there is a type of oats I can use that will grow thanks in advance Mike Maz

Some would come up but I doubt it would be enough to make it worth your time. Rye grass would work better for that type of application.

I recently asked the same type of questions about several types of plots. I found that there is throw and go but they still say it works best to plow first. I think that if you spread small seads like clover, rape and chicory it grows better than the larger seeds. Some of the packages even say not to cover them with more than 3/16 inch of dirt.

Most of your feed stores and tractor supply will also have it. Most of it will be in a brown bag with Oregon Grown in big green letters.
