weird craigslist phone convo

so i posted a leather messenger bag/briefcase up on craigslist since I'm not doing real estate any more. its been on there a couple of days and i get an email. this guy is in love with it, and says he's willing to pay more if someone else is offering to buy it too. i said, yeah there is another guy so ill take 10 more and you can come get it right now. i ask for his phone number so i can atleast on my end be in control of the call. he proceeds to tell me that i should admit that i stole it, and give it and the passports back. says he won't press charges if i do. now i tear into his ***, and he's just on and on know it all saying i broke the window in his hotel room in san antonio. tell me theres no way i have the receipt and the authorities will take care of it. we are texting at this point now. so i go online and find the receipt, black out my address and text him a picture with a few choice words attached. he apologizes but still says that he's going to let the authorities figure it out etc. i have nothing to worry about on my end, since I'm not a thief. but wow what a conversation.

yeah he was weird. wanted his passports back and laptop... of which i have neither.
just a real weirdo. if he actually had stuff stolen, then I'm so sorry for him. but no leo would ever tell him it was ok to try to track down the stuff on his own. or to act the way he was. just a real weird guy
