Seals training, leading up into Vietnam, was not as specialized and or intense as Chris Kyle's generation. After NAM, their training became what it is today, more tactical and more complex, adding a ton of mental challenge into the overall training program. Physical is a small part, mental dexterity and mental strength is extreme...they weed out the weak.

What does that have to do with anything? Would you tell Rangers of WW2 that they aren't really Rangers because ranger school didn't exist yet? Would you tell a Vietnam Era Ranger that he isn't on par with modern day Rangers because they do more advanced training?

Nope...only Jesse Ventura. He doesn't earn my respect...and he doesn't earn thousands of others who served, all branches, respect either.

Underwater Demolition Team 12 is not a real SEAL TEAM. Even during Vietnam, Seals formed in 1962 and all attended BUDS. But, even during their early years, they had to complete BUDS before attending specialized SEALS training as well as specialized SEALS Platoon training...both of these additional Programs JV never attended which equate to NOT A SEAL.

I hated him after he beat SD Jones back in 1981. Plus he rode with the Mongols bike club. Hated him for that too.

in my case yes,, ventura is a washed has been who never was all that,,,, he pretended to be a real man with a practiced script and canvas mats... Kyle was a real man who fought in a real war, shed real blood and lost real friends,,, a real man who died trying to help others,, ventura is trying to reclaim fame he never had,, I could not care less were Chris came from, I care were he went and why, I care because he cared! he believed in something bigger than a bloated ego and a few minutes of fame,, there was no fame in what he was doing when he came back,, the same kind of concern for his fellow man he showed for his country,,,, Chris Kyle was a warrior and a real hero,, not so much for what he did, but for what he believed and sacrificed and eventually died for..... ventura is a farce ,,,

My dislike for Jesse Ventura started when he decided to press on with his lawsuit after Chris Kyle was murdered. I think he could have done a lot for himself if he would have said, "that story isn't true, but I am not going to sue the widow of a Navy Seal." Money will make people do strange things though.

As Americans we should take care of our fallen's families, not sue them.

This is excactly my reasoning for disliking him as well.

Atthewall what is your beef with the old UDT guys being called SeALS? It's not like that was something they came up with. I'm pretty sure I've seen before where Ventura stated that he didn't go through seal training.
