    Haskell county hunting

Found a little place that we might be interested in and was wondering what people's thoughts are on the area

Good deer in the area. Second best area in tx behind STX. IMO

Pretty close to me. Good areas. Mostly mesquite flats. Few small hills and river bottoms.

Seen some big bucks around the old power plant area. Should be good numbers.

I was on a lease between Haskell and Rule for 4 years, we took a couple of nice 8pts and some does, mostly meat hunting...every once in a while we'd get a nice 10pt on one of the cams, no one ever closed the deal on him though. Lots of hogs, too...just too long of a drive for me, got on closer lease 3 yrs ago. Good luck!

We've been hunting just outside of Rule for almost 5 years now. We see a good number of deer, a lot of hogs, turkey, varmints...Dove hunting can be good as well. Oh and watch out for the snakes

Like a good deal of the state that area has been hit very hard by the drought. We have lost many of the china berry trees and other hardwoods on our lease. The mountain cedar and mesquite have not been bothered by it at all. We have had some good rains this fall and early winter so maybe that will help. All of the ponds on the place are full. It gets really hot out there in the summer and dry as well. Still it's nice to have a place to hunt and go to when you just want to get out of Dodge.
