ANyone have any tips or tricks to this?? I am trying to draw for anything I can get my hands on in New Mexico. A good buddy lives there and his Mountains are covered in animals.. Thanks!!

I live in NM. There really isn't a secret to getting drawn, it is a lottery and random drawing. The only thing you can do to increase your chances of getting a tag is to look at the game and fish website and look at the draw odds in certain units for a particular species. If you really want to get out and hunt NM apply for the tags with the higher percentage chances. We do have OTC aoudad, turkey, bear, and lion hunts. -
Putting in with the outfitter pool ups your chances significantly.
Some NM outfitters offer a 2-3 day "guided" deal. You can use their outfitter number for the draw for that particular unit and they have to guide you those days and you can hunt on your own the rest of the time. If you get drawn you have to go use them...contractually.Comment
