    I'm THAT Guy...Looking for lease

I know most of these threads dont get much attention, especially considering a lot people are in the same boat as me, but the way I see it, if you dont try you wont know.

Anyways, I've searched several threads about best way to find leases, and I've checked countless chamber of commerces for leases, but everything I've called about it either gone of really old information.

So, I'm going to post what I'm looking for and if it catches someones eye, great!

I need 2 spots, possibly 3, but at least 2. Somewhere within 2-3 hours of DFW area. Somehwere Bows and Guns are allowed. My father is retired and on pretty limited income, so unfortunately we have to stay at $1,000 and under per hunter. Honestly, we are not looking for a trophy lease and dont expect one at that price point, and we would be satisfied with a small amount of acreage.

If you have any info at all please PM me.

    Thank you all

To be honest for your budget you'd be best looking east or spending a lot of time at public land. Also look into the timber leases.
You gonna be pretty hard pressed to find anything N, W or south for under $1500.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the tip, I know it will be difficult to find, but I do know they exist.

Public land is the way to go if you got a tight hunting budget like I do. They are extremely challenging, but hell, that's why we bow hunt aint it? And I'm pretty sure all have a rifle draw or "season".
          My $.02..........

Trying to find anything in Texas is difficult these days. Especially with a conservative budget, I hate that it has become difficult for people to afford to hunt, but it is the reality. Finding a decent lease for under $2500 per gun is almost impossible. There are many good leases for the budget you are looking, but the spots are always taken by someone who knows someone. My lease is a great one, is still half your budget, but I have been on it 16 years. It started at $250 a gun. The last three open spots were taken by lease managers brothers and nephews. I have wanted to get my Dad on for years, and I couldnt get someone on if my life depended on it. Anyway, as mentioned above try public land or day/meat/cull hunts may be your best avenue, I truly wish you luck!

Having 27 million folks creates a lot of hunting demand. I am a single guy with a decent income and I just couldn't make myself pay what it takes down here for something Id even consider fair hunting. Leasing has definitely began pushing the common man out of private land duck hunting in Arkansas, hate to see that happen to such a great resource like whitetail in Texas. But hey, I guess money talks. Good luck in your search.
