    Deer lease hunting is stressful

I have been at it for 3 years now and no luck. Have to make it happen this year. I have been working on 4 so far this year, all 4 either got leased before me or contract issues with previous lease holders. Shouldn't have to stress over my favorite stress reliever...

If anyone has any leads let me know please. Kid friendly and under $3000 are really my only qualifications. I can always do the weekend "cull Hunt" down south like I did this year, for me. But the kids are both wanting to shoot a deer or pig and I would like to have a place to take the kids and teach them the disciplines and get them involved. The new girlfriend is also interested in going but not hunting yet.

It is not any fun at all. Back to looking myself thanks to our lease being up for sale unexpectedly.

I managed to get a spot on a really good lease in Kinney Co. I had already talked to the owner before season was over to make sure I got a spot. Several TBHers are on the lease also. And I mailed my lease check this week. Going to set up protein feeders in a couple weeks. Hang in there and you'll find something.

Nope, I've paid to use a few and a lot of the posts are old, 2013-2014. The ones that are new and active are mostly 5k a year or higher.

Haven't ever yet but not to say you could. I always worry about scams or middle men being involved. The desired situation is always word of mouth and directly through the land owner!

Public land is very rewarding guys. Takes a few weekends of scouting and thinking outside the box for access and before you know it you have a honey hole.

I started exploring it 3 years ago after several leases with drama and just as much pressure at times.

I could easily tag out every year if I wanted , I see plenty of quality bucks too..took a year of just as many would be lease trips scouting and now I have several spots within 2 hrs from home. Best thing I ever did. Some reason taking a 130 inch deer on public has same feeling as 150 on a lease. Very rewarding.

                It is crazy...

Public Hunting is all I can afford now.

I got off what really was a good lease due to some folks that just couldn't abide by the rules. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way and the lease manager who wasn't even on the lease had nothing to do on it. Everyone else I enjoyed. E

nded up settling on a lease that was just not too good as best can be described.

But still kept looking and a lead that started last year came thru this year. I can see this one lasting a long time. So just keep at it is the best suggestion I have. The best leases are the ones that are never advertised.
