Sounds like an inop condenser fan.

Fan condenser...check the relays....I had one that would blow cold air until you went up a hill then hot air would come out...it was a fan clutch relay...

Check to see if the condenser fan is working. It should be on if the AC is on. Does it work when going down the road? If it only cuts off when idling it maybe the fan.

well after a longer drive, the problem is different...

i thought it WAS blowing cold when at IDLE. it appeared that when i'd drive, the AC would cut off, but it's just intermittantly going in and out. i'm not real saavy on tiny 4 cylendar cars, but i dont see an electric fan anywhere

problem deepens. i just found that the heater has an issue as well. may be related. blows hot out of passenger side vents all the time... drivers side gets hot, then luke warm... back and forth.

the ac issue goes in and out, but it doesn't matter which vents... all blow cold then warm. could this be related to like a blend door actuator?

So a guy at Avis lube hooked up to gauges. Way high pressure. Let some out and it started cooking a bit better. Still not great. Thinks that it had air in system. Have appointment tomorrow to get it Evacd.
