    Taxidermist Reccomendation - Moose

Can anyone recommend a taxidermist in the San Antonio area to do a moose for me?

I have a taxidermist near by that I was thinking of taking it to. I dropped a deer off that I am still waiting on from last year (I didn't give it to him until the spring). He said at the time he definitely could do a moose. I just want to make sure I get it done right. My main concern is how common it is for a Taxidermist in Texas to do a moose? Would prefer to take it to a taxidermist with experience doing a moose mount, but maybe it doesn't matter??

    Thank you.

Given your requirements I would say that Dan Verrips comes to mind in San Antonio area. He is on hwy 87 near Adkins and does good work on large animals. Tell him I sent you.

I'd think a moose would be just as common as mounting up any African game or any other "destination" type hunt. If your taxi is a reputable one I would imagine he has probably mounted a moose before. In San Antonio I would recommend verips or schotts both do really good work.

I know it's not San Antonio, but I had B&B Taxidermy in Hoiston do mine and I'm really happy with it. They've done several mounts for me and I've always been impressed. Mike and Frank are great people too. I wouldn't rule out driving a couple hours to get the right guy for a big mount.

Here you go. Where are you going hunting? I got mine in Manitoba. Definitely an animal I would like to go after again.

Eddie's Taxidermy is on Nacogdoches and 1604. He's done a few euro's for me and when I dropped one off earlier in the year he had an elk on display for a "local country music guy". I tried to get the name but he wouldn't budge. He's a good guy and I highly recommend him.

Brendon Wood at Safari Life Taxidermy in San Antonio. He is very good. Has never done a moose for me but has done several other animals. Highly recommend him
