Shaking Problem with my 2008 suburban

Reaching out to the greenscreen brainturst here... I am about the farthest thing from an auto mechanic as they come. My '08 suburban runs great from 0-70 mph but as soon as i hit 70 the steering wheel starts shaking and rattling like the whole suburban is going to shake apart... Any ideas??? Other than that it runs like a champ... Thank you in advance for your help... Hope everyone is having a great Sunday...

I'm not all that much of a mechanic either, but the first thing I would check is the tires.

Could be tie rods or hub bearings. Hopefully it is something simple like tire balancing or alignment

Could be suspension. My wife's 07 did something similar and ended up need new suspension all around. Apparently had been that way for a while so we ended up replacing all 4 tires too. That got expensive in a heart beat!

Tie rods, hub bearings, pitman arm, actually there are many things it could be. Best bet is to take it to a mechanic you trust and have them check it out. Could be something simple as improperly balanced tires. But if your not a mechanic and dont have any shadetree buddies and it turns out to be something like balljoints your gonna have to take it to a shop either way.

Sounds like belts in a tire seperated. Kinda hard to see but the bad spot will be slightly raised from the rest of the tread, not really an obvious knot.

Wasn't there someone on here once with similar problem? Maybe with a persistent shake could not diagnose. It was not long ago and he mounted a GoPro underneath and actually determined his problem.

had an older burban that did this above sixty and it was due to mud in the wheels. Start simple and work your way to the more serious issues mentioned.
