Extended Range Wireless Gate Transmitter........

At the farm I'm tired of having to drive up to the gate to let friends and workers in.

Looking for a 300mhz transmitter and directional antenna that will reach from the house 2500+ feet(clear line of site) to my Apollo solar powered gate opener.

Any suggestions.....

At that distance your probably looking at a cellular control box.

Why don't you put in a wireless key pad? They cost about $80 and are very easy to put in.

They make one that has just a button that should work. They also make them where you can have more than one access code. You can give one out to be used for a few days and then delete it and keep the main one for family.

Well, knock on wood I got it working. Ended up being 2640' straight line of site.

I remote mounted the rubber duck antenna of the transmitter on one of the dormers of the house and put the extended range receive antenna on the pipe fence. So far so good.
