    Anyone use Screen Capture/Recorder Software?

My wife needs a simple program to capture her screen and allow her to do voice-overs for training videos at work. I have it on my Mac but she needs it at work for Windows.

Does anyone have a suggestion that's not too expensive? Free would be even better as long it's not a 7 day trial or something like that.

Seems to be a lot of different ones on the market but was hoping to find something that's been tested and verified to be good.

    Thanks.

You can use gotomeeting and set to record.

Can you save that recording and treat it like a regular video file? Thanks

Thanks. Anyone try SnagIt? Seems to have good reviews.

Snagit is great for capturing, but she really needs a video editing software so she can narrate, add background music, splice video and trim.

I use snagit for capturing & windows movie maker to edit. I think windows movie maker is a free download from Microsoft.

I spent the last half my day producing, splicing, editing, adding transitions etch using both applications.

Screenhunter is another to look at. Its free but I don't think it has as many capabilities.

Camtasia is another check out. It has all the capabilities rolled into one. A bit harder to operate and I don't know the cost.

We use Camtasia too but I like Snag it better but we don't edit anything.

Camtasia is the parent company of SnagIt. I have used both at work to do training videos and Camtasia is what you want. You will find SnagIt won't let you edit anything. It has way more features. But if cost is a major factor then this might be too expensive for your needs.

I just use the print screen function and paste it into Word. I do a lot of this to explain things to my 95 year old father-in-law in an email. I also used it while still at work to do training documents for computer control systems. Worked for me and it's free, part of windows.

That's for still shots. This is for a video of what's happening n your screen.

Thanks for all the input guys and gals!

I did some video also, just this old mind don't remember what I used. I worked for a Hospital, so trust me it was most likely free. I'll try and figure out what I used and get back to you.
