I am looking for a wireless transmitter w remote. Here is what I am wanting to do with this device. I will be using it outdoors. It will be used to turn the power off on a magnet. This magnet draws 1.25 amps, is 15 watts, and is continous. I am going to be using a 12v power system that will be solar charged also. It will be used to hold power to the magnet then I am wanting to be able to cut the power to the magnet and drop the gate. I am wanting to be able to b a good distance away from device I will be operating, some where in the range of 300 yds or so. Can anyone help me with what I need or lead me in the right direction. Message me or comment here if you need more answers. Thanks in advance.

http://www.dinodirect.com/wireless-r...ess-alarm.html this is the one I was looking at but I dont wanna buy from china. A one channel would work good. We use these magnets w a 12v feeder battery and a 12v solar panel like what is on feeders and it last for 5 hours no problem.

These little transmitter/receivers can be found all over. Just google '12v wireless transmitter relay'. Sounds like you're trying to build a trip gate for a hog trap. Why not use a solenoid to pull a pin or gate release instead of an electromagnet. Being on battery power there's only a finite amount of time that magnet can hold, additionally your coil for the magnet is going to get very hot and it's lifespan won't be very long.

A picture is worth a thousand words right..
Here's a drawing for a guillotine style trap door. The gate rides in the rails and a horizontal piece is added at the level where you want to prop the gate open.
The next part is the hardest and will take some trial and error on your part. A hole in the horizontal bar is made and a 'pin' of some sort is pegged through the hole in order prop the gate open. You want as little as bite as needed in order to hold the gate so the solenoid can pull the pin out. Too big a hole, too much friction, etc and it'll get wedged by the gate it's not going to work. The cable goes from the pin to the solenoid which is mounted where when activated it can pull in line with your pin and perpendicular to the gate. The solenoid work pulls when power is applied to it which can be done by the RF transmitter and a battery. Trial and error will get the trigger right.
Another option instead of a guillotine door is to hinge the door at the top and prop it up 90 degrees with a similar bar and pin system or even a stick. When the solenoid pulls it either pulls the pin or just yanks the stick out and the gate swings back down. Not nearly as much trial and error to get it to function correctly in this setup but easier to trigger earlier than anticipated by having your target hit the stick on the way in.
