How-To Tamper Proof A Camp House

I'm wanting to hear what some of y'all have done to try and make your camp house / cabin tamper proof and keep out the crackheads and other vagrants. I'm on a new lease between Baird & Coleman and my cabin door got kicked in.

Nothing was taken and nothing else in camp was messed with but my doors were probably the easiest to get into seeing as how I have an 8' x 12' portable building that is finished out for sleeping quarters and the doors swing inwards.

I'm thinking about just removing all of my valuables (which would just be a mini fridge and small elec heater) and leaving the doors unlocked. At least I wouldn't have to replace the door jamb any more!

So, what say you, all ye experienced ones?

Leave it unlocked and take everything with you. Leave food and water and most times they won't thrash it.
Or build it out of a container.

Leave the door unlocked with all you valuable gone. Put a sign on the front door of the travelers prayer with a picture of Mary. Make sure it's in Spanish too. Leave some canned food and water. This worked for us but we were near the border. After this the worst we had was a stopped up toilet.

Put a sign in Spanish and English saying door is boobie trapped to exploded when opened then rig it up with those birthday poppers that shoot confetti! Oh ya don't forget to have hidden game camera with video pointing at door. Lol

Or you could build you a outer rebar door with heavy duty locks and put rebar around windows.

              Cages on windows work.
In my NY camp I take my old non working trail cams and lag bolt them up high in trees facing down around the house. A sign that says smile...your on camera. No issues in 22 years

Our La Salle county lease must have been on a major infiltration route for folks coming north--we left the camper door unlocked, just secured with wire, and several cans of beans/corn, etc on the table in plain sight with a can opener. Many times we found the empty cans, can opener, and one of our pots beside the fire pit--but the only thing they usually took were knives.

I'm thinking that I'm gonna do bars on the doors and windows

A friend of mine painted a white suburban like a Border patrol vehicle. No more break ins.

If they want in, and they have the time, they'll get in.

If you have a camphouse with window bars and reinforced door? They'll go through the roof. Then they will totally trash the place for making it hard for them.

Best to leave it unlocked with a spring closer on the door. (Keeps the coons out after the guests leave) Leave some canned food and water.
