No stabilizer here; or sights, or peep, or rest for that matter.

      Longbows are wonderful!

does a stabilizer really make a diff with noise if you already have other noise dampeners?

It really depends on the bow and how you shoot.

For folks who shoot open bow hand with a wrist sling to catch the bow. A stabilizer is often a necessity or it won't tip forward repeatably after the shot. That form tends to favor stabilizers.

If because of the way the bow is accessorized (ie. on bow quiver, string shock suppressor) the bow wants to tip backward or torque after the shot. A suppressor will help either reduce or eliminate that tendency.

In general if the bow torques or tends to throw an arrow high from time to time a stabilizer will help. But if you don't need it to shoot well you just don't need it.

Seems that you'd only want to hunt that way if near perfect with it otherwise the risk of not making a kill shot increases significantly.

Been bowhunter 5 years now. Use Switchback XT @ 67# with 5 arrow quiver. Killed lots of animals with no stabilizer and have no idea what benefit there is to them.

Theirs a reason why the pros use 30"(long) stabilizers. You shoot better with them. fact.

I have a constant shake and ended up buying a 7 dollar stabilizer from academy and it seems to help keep the bow steady.. Thinking of looking for one a tad heavier.

If I knew how to judge what I needed, I'd get one. But as of now, I don't shoot with one.

I shoot better with a longer stab. Have tried the short ones which are really just dampers and didn't like them I'm using a 10.5 doinker dish right now

A 30' stabilizer would be heck hunting with but I am sure it would improve your shooting if you could maneuver it in position without spooking the deer

I never said use that length while hunting. I use 12" without any problems.
