102 Year Old Member of the Lost Battalion Passes

JACKSBORO – Luther Prunty was a successful rancher in Jacksboro who was almost 103 when he died, and one of his cherished possessions was an old, red blanket.

The last remaining member of the "Lost Battalion" passed away. I had the pleasure of meeting Woodrow Starnes who was one of the POW's a few years ago here in Decatur. If you ever pass through on Hwy 287 stop in at the Wise County Historical Museum and ask to see the Lost Battalion room upstairs.

Many of the Lost Battalion members were from Wise and Jack Counties.

              RIP HERO. THANK YOU.

I met Woodrow Starnes years ago. Shared coffee one day and I listened to his story. Incredible.

I agree with Froggy if your ever here in Decatur take a trip to the old Decatur Baptist College, home of the Wise County Historical Museum, go through the Lost Battalion room. It will touch your heart.
