    Dove Wing's Needed

    Hey guy's and gal's,

With work and prior commitments it's looking like I won't be getting out dove hunting again before the season closes. I'm in need of dove wings. I'm located in the Kemah/League City area so if you're close and will be dove hunting could you please bag the wings and toss them in the freezer so I can pick them up from ya? I have a lab pup that I'll be training in the off season. I use the dove scent but I also like tying wings to the dummy to let the dog get the feel of feathers in it's mouth.

Drop me a PM and let me know if you're able to help me out.

    Andrew

If you don't find someone to get you some, I might have some older ones lying around.

Build u a trap and use milo and corn...put in backyard....realease the morning and whitewings...pull the heads off the collareds....perfect for training....make a box out of chicken wire about 10 inches tall and 4 ft long by 3 ft wide...cut semi circle hole in only one end. Place the feed in the back....when u see them go in open the back door and clap ur hands...they just try to fly to no avail...I can catch ten collared doves a week easy...

So ur training ur dog to point dove in the field? Gonna be tuff to walk up dove doing so
over a dog. If ur training a retriever to retrieve dove then any old wing will do- quail, phez,
duck, etc. Good luck on training the pup and enjoy. Best partner to have out on a hunt.

See if someone will give you a duck this weekend. Bound to be some folks hunting in the area. A whole duck should last you a good while. Keep it in the freezer till training time. Take it out to thaw a little before hand, then back to the freezer when you're done.
