    GPS/mapping program

What is out there that can interact with my GPS (via cable) to make maps?

Garmin and using Mapsource (older version) currently but looking for something with aerial photo capability, ability to mark boundaries, trails, points etc

Free is preferable but let me know what is good

I am sure I can hand transfer points but I have a lot and not going that route, don't have time to put them in one by one

The last several versions of Mapsource had the ability to launch Google Earth with all your waypoints.

        Google Earth

ArcGIS Explorer - this one is cool because it has other features than just imagery like GE, such as topo maps.

You can take the data from map source and dump it into GoogleEarth and see all your tracks and waypoints, really simple to do. Google it and you should be able to figure it out pretty easy, it's an option in map source to open in google earth, may have to update map source.
