When to plant?

We are wanting to plant some potato's this year never have before any info from anyone? We are also going to try onions and squash... I have tried a guarden before and it failed lol so any help is great!!!

i'm going to plant potatoes in a few weeks. onions i already have in the ground.
squash you want to plant in the early spring, along with corn, and other above ground veggies.

I usually plant mine right before a late freeze that kills everything

cut them in parts with a couple of eyes on each one, lay them out on newspaper and let the cut side dry out, put in the ground while the moon is waning.

At least in the South-east part of Texas (H-town), I've always heard Valentines Day pretty much marks potato planting time.

if you like greens you can still plant them and make a good crop.
personaly i like mustard, but they're all good.

Yep, the 14th .
Now my FIL told me, when you use a cut tater to plant, dip the cut side in some ashes then plant.
I'll have to ask my dad how and when he plants his.

How deep do you guys usually plant them? I had ants attack 50% of my crop last year, was devastated. Didn't know until I went to dig em up.
