The box is a boss hog trap with a side hinged door and the round pen has a saloon style door.

Went out there yesterday and finally got one! Hadn't checked my trap in about 2 1/2 weeks, so not sure how long he's been in there till I check the cam pics. Hoping for more next go `round.

Last time I pulled the camera card, found this--and about 6 nights out of 7. Does this mean it's time to set the trap --- and get the smoker ready? I think so.

Here we go...There were actually 2 hogs caught on May6. Shortly after, one managed to escape somehow.
Going back on memorial day to check again.

Not sure I would set a trap for that long without checking it...but to each their own.

Man, I agree. I certainly wouldn't admit that I had a hog in a trap for two weeks. As stated, to each his own but I think if you can't check daily then ordinary prudence dictates that you lock the trap open or closed.

This is what I have had to do unfortunately. With the all the rain I don't know from one day the next if I'm going to be able to get to the traps. I start to stress out when I go 2 days without checking.

                      Probably climbed out.

It wasn't my intention to go that long without checking, but even if it was, so what! They're just hogs, a plague and a nuisance that most folks shoot on sight. Besides, there is a large oak tree inside for shade, the feeder goes off 3 times a day and 2 water tanks which can't be seen in the pics. He didn't suffer at all, until I shot him LoL!...in fact he probably thought he was on a nice 2-week vacation. No worries...

Got these two last weekend. Went out and set them again last night. Hopefully I have a few more when I head out after work

I guess it's not possible that you catch a fawn or other unintended animal either, eh? Do as you wish. One day you shall have a smelly mess to deal with when you planned on a restful trip to the ranch.

                              Really!?...I will, thanks!

Oh, it's possible. Hasn't happened yet and hopefully not...and I'll deal with the smelly mess same as I do when a trophy deer gets snagged and dies trying to jump our game fence. It happens, but I don't see anyone taking down their game fences...
Thanks for your concern...maybe we should all practice catch and release from now on...
