hunting reg ? - pushing game with 4 wheeler?

Is it legal for one hunter to use a 4 wheeler to push game towards another hunter that is shooting?

pretty sure that's considered harassment , and frowned upon by the GW

different States likely have different rules regarding pushing deer with a motorized vehicle

If I understand the reg correctly if you are doing it with a vehicle of any kind it is considered "harassing game" which is illegal. I'm saying that from memory but I think that is correct

that was the only line I could draw was with harassment, I didn't see anything that specifically listed pushing animals with a motorized vehicle

            Harassing game?

            Hmmm.......

I know that it is illegal to harass game (according to the Parks and Wildlife Code) to harass game or fish it is...... "for the purpose of disrupting a person lawfully engaged in the process of hunting or catching wildlife".

            TPWC Sec. 62.0125

I don't think the description from the OP would be for disruption of lawful hunting. In fact it is in that circumstance an attempt to help hunting.

Would flushing ducks be considered "harassing"? I don't think so.

What might apply is "hunting" from a vehicle and according to what is considered hunting.

There is a law against hunting from a vehicle but the questions has to be asked, what is hunting?

According to the TPWC to hunt means to "capture, trap, take, or kill, or an attempt to capture, trap, take, or kill.".

Is driving a vehicle around private land considered Trapping? Taking? Killing? Capturing?

            I have no clue.

Funny stuff.......you can shoot them but don't harrass them.

it's not private land... not sure if that matters or not.

TVC, I thought I had "heard" that flushing ducks out on the bay to get them flying was illegal... but I haven't seen the regulation actually spell that out.

I guess what I was thinking about is people getting ticketed for riding around on 4 wheelers in a dove field to keep the birds moving. Don't know how or if that would apply to deer or other game animals..

There is no law against hunting from a vehicle on private property!

I don't know the answer to the OP's question.

Wildlife Ranch does that for every hunt...so it can't be illegal right?

Thus is true. You can not use a vehicle to flush migratory birds. I believe you are OK with non migratory animals.
