need help with Scout Guard camera!

I have a scout guard SG580 and cant get the sim card to work. Spent about an hour at ATT yesterday. Did everything the manual said, created my new line account and still wouldnt work. They used a card that had data on it, and a blank card. I never paid the ten dollars to start acoount, they said to try it likr thid before wasting $10? I'm kinda thinking that was the problem. They said as long as I had an account, and used a sim card with existing data plan it should work???
What do yall think?

nobody thins they have a solution? anyone got the number to call them? All I found was an email, and havent got a reply yet
