      Personally I would clone a game tamer type stand. If you are going to deal with heavy you might as well have comfort and function.

        Copy the Gametamer/Woodsey Too type. I can install one of those hang-ons by myself. They are a little heavy, but manageable, very well built and have sat in one for the entire day many times.

        But there's a reason store bought ones are TMA (Treestand Manufactures Association) approved. They are tested to rigorous standards for the safety of the hunter.

          I built several about 30 years ago. They weigh about 50 pounds each and haven't been used in probably 27 years.
