Marlin .256 Winchester Mag. Leveraction - AMMO

Anyone know someone who might have some or can load some?
I believe they called the Round .256 Winchester Magnum.
Some say it can be made with .357 Magnum Brass

Found this on a website.... "256 Winchester brass will never be made again; apparently, Winchester destroyed the dies. It can, however, be easily fashioned from .357 Magnum brass, with a two-die forming set from C-H Tool & Die." - interesting

Never even heard of one until I read your post.... I need to do some research. If I can find enough info and you buy the "stuff" I'll load some.
I'll pm you after I research it some

It is a necked down .357 Magnum. It was first chambered in the Ruger Single shot Hawkeye pistol.

Was getting excited, but then read this: (Buffalo Arms site)

This is currently loaded obsolete ammunition for 256 Winchester Chambered firearms. This ammunition is for use in single shot firearms chambered in this caliber not for lever action rifles. Loaded using our reformed 256 Winchester Magnum cases (#256WINMAG) and Hornady 87 Grain Jacketed Spitzer Soft Point Bullets (#HOR2530)

I did see some for sale on gunbroker, but hoping to find something a little cheaper.

Sent Reed's an email asking how long they expected to fill their backorders. Looks like some reloading parts are available. Question is, with having to buy dies, brass, etc., would I be better off buying some at the $68 to $80 per 50ct range. I'm sure the price per round would vary on how many rounds I needed, but I'd consider 250 to 500 rounds if it would come out cheaper.

I don't have a 256 but I had looked it up a while back for someone. Good luck in your search.

Still looking around. Any thoughts no reloading?

I wonder if Buffalo Bore would build you some Ammo for your LEver gun ?
All they lack is the right projectile .... It might be worth a phone call,,
