Can I take my Truck to a second inspection station?

Tried to get my fathers truck inspected and the dweeb claimed my horn wasn't loud enough? ***? Sounds ok to me.

There is another place that I should have gone to first that most likely will pass it. I just want to pay another 28 bucks and go to the second place but will they see my truck already in the system and the errors?

Did they actually test the decibel level of the horn? Never heard of that being a reason to fail.

Sometimes they log it and its in the system. Just depends. I had a situation with emissions a couple years ago and took it to Ford and they found the note in the system. They told me to get it fixed. Never made any changes the whole time I owned the truck. Took to a mom and pop shop and they passed no problems. There my go to place now!

Not sure that's a reason to fail a vehicle. Now if the horn doesn't work, that's understandable.

As long as it makes a noise I would think it would pass. Heck our 2012 van has a sissy horn and it still passes.

Reasonable harsh sound it the words used in the Texas inspection code book. It gives a lot to interpretation

My horn barely squeaked and they passed me...depends on the place you go to.

I replaced the horns so now it will blast people and purchasing off eBay was like $12 shipped.

Why pay for another inspection somewhere else? Horns are cheap and easy to replace.

Has to be heard 200' away. If you cant, put a new one on and take it back to same dweeb. You dont have to pay again.

You'll have to pay for another inspection regardless of where you take it. The fees are pass or fail. If you fixed it they are still gonna do another inspection and charge for it

                            Not sure on this.

Mine failed because of a tire wear and they just looked at the tire when I went in the next day and had the tires changed out. No charge for me second time in.

Wrong. If you fix it and take it back within 15 days to the same place the retest is free. If past 15 days or different location then you have to pay.
