Metal vs String loop

Does anyone shoot a metal string loop? Interested in changing.

I use too. Made too much noise so I switched to a string loop and am happier with the sound.

I saw a high speed video once with a metal D Loop and it was not pretty. It took forever for the string to stop after a shot. I will stay with the string D Loop.

I thought it was too loud whenever I've tried 'em. I don't even know what sparked my interest in them, but it was ridiculous- the string loop works perfectly, so why try to fix what ain't broke? Good/accurate shooting is about form, a lot more than it is about equipment.

Plus, it's harder on your string ... wear wise.

I shot two different metal loops before I went to string. I will never go back! Besides the things already mentioned, think about this. String conforms perfectly to the inside of your release, distributing pressure evenly. A metal loop will typically come in contact with the release at only one or two places, depending on the width and shape of the jaws. You will never get as smooth a release with metal as you can with string.

Thank you for the input. Just drawing a high poundage (85 LB) bow, and that loop makes me nervous. I have had one break and **** near knocked myself out.

Metal loop is also noisy when hooking your release to it if your not careful
string is the way to go

Use a larger diameter string for the loop material.

string loop works best for me

Too noisy, causes damage in the release jaews sooner or later, and it makes the string oscilate like hell... And ir ur loop is tied properly you will pull the bow in half before you break the loop. (Of course as long as it's quality material...)
