What are your thoughts about rain and bow hunting. Do you hunt in rain if so how much rain? Been raining down south Texas last couple of days and I have been itching to make a trip to our ranch.

I usually avoid bowhunting in the rain. I'm always afraid I'll lose the blood trail. Too often, one or two drops of blood saved me hours of tracking, if not an entire deer. I'd hate to be looking for those drops of blood in the rain.
Having said that, I'm not waiting much longer. My time is running out, and I'll be in a stand this weekend, regardless.

If it's not a thunderstorm I'm huntin in it! I've seen some great bucks in the rain. The only thing I don't like is it will force you to get down a little earlier then you would like to track because the blood will wash away rather quick. The first animal I ever shot in the rain I lost because of this.I believe I made a good shot I just didn't think the blood would get washed away that fast. Now I just use my best judgment at the moment a shot opportunity presents itself and how hard it's raining. Good luck!
