I'm going back this am to look for deer. It's ice box cold so they will be find provided the coyotes didn't find them.

I searched high and low and found no deer. I think I'm missing because I'm pulling the shots because I sighted it in and it shoots just fine. I'm just so excited with this new toy that I think I might be peeking at the shot rather than following through and seeing the hit in the scope. However, based on the responses of no blood trail or that I should really try for the head or neck, I think I'm going to stick with my trusted and accurate .243. I really like it when I shoot them in the shoulder and they fall over. I do plan to develop a handload with a heavier higher quality hunting bullet. I'm saving my brass and plan to buy some dies soon enough. If I can get it together, I may try it next year.

Thanks for all the replies. I did manage to kill two does with a borrowed 30-06 and they fell where they were hit at 120 and 140 yards so I suppose I can shoot a little. It was a bolt gun and for whatever reason I'm more comfortable shooting them more accurately.
