    Change stand position

I'm hunting on my uncle's place. All feeders are supposed to be full.

The feeder by the blind I'm in has zero corn on the ground and I don't see any at the bottom by the thrower. There is a good plot with rye grass I be leave.

I could move to another blind that is same set up but instead of rye grass I think its oats or cotton seed planted.

    What would you do?

Ride it out or change position.

Wind is fine for either stand.

Probably will miss the evening hunt to go back to the house.

I'd go to that cottonseed/oat. They like eating that stuff much more than rye in my experience.

I feel like rye grass is better at looking pretty and green than getting eatin'

No doubt it is. Deer aren't really grass eaters. They prefer other crops.

If the feeder has just ran out and/or the blind is at a known crossing i would stay put. Otherwise switch stands quickly. In my experience I always pick the wrong stand deer are moving during the night and midday. All my action yesterday was between 11 and 1.

Id move if I were you. But then again, I love hunting different spots. I just built a regular 5.5'x7' bow blind, but the activity there went to 0 right after I got the blind set up. I am going to put a feeder up at that blind, and then set up a ladder stand on a completely different section of the ranch. Having options and moving around keeps hunting interesting for me.

Well I stayed put. 15 minutes left before I have to call it.
