    Gun Safe Question?

I'm looking to buy a gun safe. I figured bigger is better so ill always have room for expansion or possible bow storage. What do you fellers think of this!? The asking price is $1240. It's at a safe dealer 20 miles from my house. As always any help from the GS is much appreciated!

one scratch and dent 60 gun safe, this safe has several blemishes. Regular price is $1,500.00
    The Safe dimensions are 40"wide X 60"tall X 28"deep. Fire Rating is 1200 degrees for 60 minutes.
Recessed pry resistant fire door, 1-1/4" Anti-Pry Bolts (4-way) Door Organizer included, Alarming electronic lock with a keyed override.

Dont know much about that brand, but I have a Cannon 48 gun with almost identical demensions. I believe 60x40x24" but only fireproof for 30 minutes at 1200. Price was $699 on black friday and I believe 999 normally so for that price I guess you are getting the extra 30 minutes of fire protection.

I agree. Seems a lil high to me, especially for all the blemishes it has. And never heard of that brand.

Why? It will have pins behind them, and the door will open further. I would much rather have them external.

I was looking at the same safes and went this direction instead.

Right now they are shot on the S&D, but if you wait for a bit, they will get some more good deals in. You might call them.

              External hinges are fine.

When it comes to gun safes, from my research, the higher fire rating the higher the price. 60 minutes is a good rating and with the blemishes I'd would talk them down if it were me. Walk in with $1,100 cash $1,150 tops and if they say no then walk away. Just remember a 60 gun safe won't hold quite that many guns. I got the Winchester 24 a couple years back dims are 60" tall 30" width 22" deep and I have 8 long guns on the left side of it and can't fit another. There are shelves on the right side of it that my bow rest on perfectly. If you can get it in the $1,100 range I think it's a good deal in my opinion

The Silverado is a very good one, if this deal was around when I got mine, I'd have this one

Thanks for the info guys! I went to my local Cabelas an picked up this lil' guy!

                    Liberty Safe! 72.5x42x28 with a 75min 1200 Degree fire rating. L. E. D. Lights inside!

It only took me about 3 hours of what my girlfriend thought was dangerously hilarious maneuvering to get it installed into my back bedroom.

Now I can't get any grief by my friends about guns hidden behind every door in the house... Except for the ones strategically placed!

                    P. S. My Mathews monsters slides right into top shelf! Sorry to brag but I had to throw that in ther!

                    Yee yee!!!

If you want a better fire rating take the carpet and shelves off inside and glue another layer of 1/2" drywall on the inside. That's about the fire rating in a nutshell. How many layers of drywall is on the inside.
