My old upright that I inherited from my grandpa took a dump this morning. Thankfully, I found it before it had defrosted. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about newer freezers, and don't want to buy a dud. I don't mind buying a chest freezer if that's what's needed. Just don't want to be buying another in 4 years, and it also can't break the bank. $500 tops. 14 cu ft or so. Any suggestions?

Why did old one go out? Usually they are bullet proof and a new 3n1 start kit gets them back runningComment

Whatever freezer you get be sure to use a surge protector. Alot of freezer failures can be avoided by using one.Comment
