Storing Your 9v Batteries!

I stopped a gas station to buy 9v for a little piece of test equip I have. Paid for it and took it out of packaging right at the register and dropped it in my pocket. Was planning on putting it in tester as soon as I got to car. Customer called and I got in car and drove off. A couple minutes into call suddenly I'm like, "What the heck!!!!" That sucker shorted across a pocket knife and was lighting me up! My customer found it very amusing! Lol
Blistered my leg! Lol
