Friends first Deer was a Brute

Took my buddy out for his first deer after we came home empty handed from west texas last month. He was out for a meat doe when this monster walked out. You could say he is happy. Watching this buck jump the fence and come in on us while he sweated the whole situation was alot of fun. Its a nicer deer than I have ever taken. But watching a hunter you "trained" take his first deer was a great experience. He nearly cried after jumping up and yelling after the shot (we never covered post shot behavior). Great deer. Hes hooked on the sport for life.

working on in it. sprint stinks .... also taking score estimates... processing and shoulder mount...ect.. (his choice ) makes this a $700 dollar deer. He said "man this sport is just like golf ... the more you know the more it costs." I explained its more expensive because first you have to buy the course. Without a place to go all the gear in the world is useless. Lucky to have several places to hunt. I told him he could have shot a doe for his first one and let me shoot this one and it would have been free He is happy to shell out the cash on this one. working on the pics...

I even left the big yeti at home. The last Doe my GF shot I could have stuffed into this little one and left the lid open. Who said a yeti wont hold what it says....

Ha Always. I dont promise deer but I do promise a good time. A land owner near us saw the deer at the meat market and told me right where I had to have shot it. She told me that the deer has been working the area for 6-7 yrs. That they have been waiting for him to jump the fence and he never would. Im the only one that hunts this land and I have been away from deer hunting the last 5 years. He must have found this lil safe zone and been camping out here a while.
