    Elk hunting question

Looking into a future elk hunt. Have a friend in Colorado that has land next to national forest, says it's full of game. Curious about probability of getting a tag and overall costs of hunt. Mule deer an option as well. Seems I remember the conservation dept made it hard for non residents to get drawn, so I may not even pursue it. Just curious. Thanks

we go to the flat tops every year! bull tag OTC 630.00 and get drawn for nuleys every year. Colorado is great, makes you realize how easy Texas hunting is

A lot of the units are OTC tags.

Everything sounds good. Ranches neighboring natl forest often become sanctuaries for elk. If you're hunting the second rifle season in that zone, and have an opportunity to draw muley tag, go for it. 3rd and 4th not so much.

If you hunt archery elk, turkey and archery bear should be at the same time. You can hunt your bear over you elk's gut pile and really fill the freezer.
